Jiří Černický is an installation artist working in Prague, Czech Republic. His work investigates how technology can be a desensitizing system and explores its physical and emotional effects. In his most recent videos, he employs what he calls “kinetic literature” and takes the pulse of our hidden thoughts.

Černický has shown extensively throughout Eastern Europe at prestigious venues including the Academie der Kunste Berlin and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Prague. He has been featured in 19 solo exhibitions and has work included in public and private collections. Černický has received honors such as The Chalupecký Award (1998) and the Soros Prize (1996). He is currently represented by the Jiří Švestka Gallery in Czech Republic, Prague.
