Whether you're a self-publisher or book artist yourself, or have never
seen a zine before, you won't want to miss Zine-o-Phobia,
a crash course in zine culture starting at 3pm on Saturday, February 1st.
This public event features presentations by FOUND
Magazine editor Davy Rothbart,
founders of the traveling Projet
Mobilivre/ Bookmobile Project, John
Chaich and more, followed by a zine
swap meet and sale. Limited free table space is available for
zine and book creators who register ahead. Call Christa at (216) 621-2314

Feb 2: Hands-On Zine Workshop
Make your own zine or book project, at this FREE workshop led by artist
Courtney Dailey
and other members of the traveling Bookmobile
Project. This event is great for adolescents and adults of
all ages. Event starts at 1pm. There is no admission fee but pre-registration
is required. Call (216) 621-2314 to sign up.

Feb 7: Spoken Word with
r.a. washington
On Friday, February 7th, head to SPACES for poetry from Cleveland's own
r.a. washington, who will read passages from his new book, a bridge to
babelyon falling, a 2003 Pocket Genius series edition from Collinwood
Press. At 7pm, washington will perform his works live and sign copies
for visitors at this FREE event.

SPACES is a non-profit,
artist-run, alternative space gallery. Since 1978, SPACES has given over
7,000 artists in the visual and performing arts an arena in which to present
challenging new ideas. SPACES is located at 2220 Superior Viaduct on the
West side of the Flats. Superior Viaduct runs parallel to the Detroit
Superior Bridge at the intersection of West 25th Street.
