from the artists themselves, as SPACES presents a special gallery discussion
on Saturday, May 10th. From 5-6pm, join us for refreshments and Elements
tour. From 6-7, SPACES World Artists Program Resident Margaret
Cogswell gives an in-depth walk-through of her multimedia
installation, Cuyahoga Fugues. This evening is free and open to
the public.

Mobilivre/Bookmobile Project comes to Cleveland

Mobilivre / Bookmobile Project
from their slide show and zine-making workshop during Page
Me, SPACES' recent exhibition of artist's books and zines.
Projet Mobilivre / Bookmobile
Project is an annually curated touring exhibition of artist-made
books and independent publications that travels the United States and
Canada in a vintage Airstream trailer, encouraging independent media and
artistic production through workshops and informal dialogue. This year,
they're bringing their mobile gallery to SPACES, on Wednesday and Thursday,
May 21 - 22 from 11am to 8pm. SPACES will stay open until 8pm for these
two nights only, so you'll get the chance to see both exhibitions for
free! This will be the first time the Bookmobile has stopped in Cleveland.

Workshop for Beginners
Artists from Projet Mobilivre/Bookmobile Project lead a hands-on
workshop of Japanese binding and other bookmaking techniques. Space is
extremely limited, so be sure to pre-register soon.

Red {an orchestra} Launch Party
You'll want to see red, when Cleveland's new orchestra launches its next
season in style. Red {an orchestra}
presents an evening of film, refreshments and great music to kick
off its upcoming year. Hear what all the fuss is about at this free launch
party on Thursday, May 29th from 5:30 - 8pm at SPACES.

Lyric Evening of Art at SPACES
Join us at 7pm on June 17th for performances by the apprentice singers
of Lyric Opera Cleveland
followed by a gallery tour of the exhibition. This showcase of vocal and
visual artists is free, but reservations are required. Call SPACES at
216-621-2314 to reserve your seat.
SPACES is a non-profit,
artist-run, alternative space gallery. Since 1978, SPACES has given over
7,000 artists in the visual and performing arts an arena in which to present
challenging new ideas. SPACES is located at 2220 Superior Viaduct on the
West side of the Flats. Superior Viaduct runs parallel to the Detroit
Superior Bridge at the intersection of West 25th Street.
