Beautiful Dreamer
kicks off the Kacalieff Lecture Series, Dreamweaver: The Science
and Culture of Escape, Fantasy and Reverie, an eight month
series of exhibitions, lectures and films presented by The Cleveland
Institute of Art.
Set aside the demands of everyday life to visit
Beautiful Dreamer, where a scrim overlays the real world
to deliver a more romantic vision. Beautiful Dreamer connects
us with the inspirational elements that feed our dreams, both
conscious and unconscious.
The artists in this exhibition have culled their
own inner landscapes to provide a glimpse into their reveries
which often speak to universal themes such as fascination with
the unknown, exploration of the psychological landscape, and giving
form to the collective unconscious.
