"My paintings explore our surroundings through investigations of natural spaces. Through heightened color and shifts in scale, I am interested in emphasizing the material of paint. Similarly, in relying on gesture and alternating thin washes with layered areas, I am concerned with creating spaces within the pieces that dissolve into abstraction."
