We're collaborating with Guide to Kulchur to bring you the Adventure Book Club, a quarterly meet-up for bookworms that connects to SPACES exhibitions through a book and Cleveland-based adventure.

NEXT BOOK & ADVENTURE: July 13, 6pm
The Making of the Indebted Man, by Maurizio Lazzarato
Do We Notice Our Wages on a Daily Basis?
Book club adventurers are challenged to live without one-third of their monthly income in June, while working the same hours. Participants are encouraged to document their experience, at minimum once a week for four weeks, with the method(s) of their choice. At the end of the challenge we'll gather together at a location TBA for a potluck discussion of the book, and to share our experiences with the self-imposed financial restriction. This book and adventure correspond with Kate Sopko's The Fixers project at SPACES.

Here's how the Adventure Book Club works:

  • Visit your friendly independent bookshop (5900 Detroit Avenue) to purchase the next book on the reading list.
  • View the related SPACES exhibition, The Fixers, once it opens on May 20th.
  • Join us on the corresponding adventure!
